OLYMPUS WATCHES YOU TOIL.

The Absurd Trek

The gods condemned Sisyphus to an eternity of frustrating labor: he must push a massive boulder up a mountain, only to watch it roll back down the moment he nears the summit.

In 1942, philosopher Albert Camus used this myth to describe The Absurd—the human condition of searching for absolute meaning in a silent, meaningless universe. Camus argued we must not despair. We must find our own defiant purpose in the struggle itself.
